When this space exceeds the tolerances set by the National Fire Protection Association, it is deemed "excessive" -- these excessive gaps can compromise the door's integrity by allowing smoke or fire to pass through.

Your solution? NGP's GapGuard! This UL-certified product addresses clearances up to 5/16" on 20-minute rated wood or hollow metal fire doors. Its intumescent materials expand during a fire, sealing gaps to prevent flames and smoke from spreading. It is designed to withstand aging, weathering, UV radiation, and exposure to chemicals, making it suitable for both interior and exterior applications like hospitals, offices, and more.

The adhesive performs well in temperatures ranging from -30°F to 250°F and has a one-year shelf life when stored properly. Additionally, GapGuard is certified to ANSI/UL10C and complies with IBC, NFPA 80, and NFPA 252 standards, making it a reliable choice for maintaining fire safety in buildings.
